Supporter Guide
A usage guide for supporters who get a creator's badge and cheer them on.
What is badgelu?
badgelu is a platform that visualizes and deepens your connection with the people and teams you support. How much you're cheering someone on — something a simple follow could never show — becomes visible as a ranking.
Supporter vs. follower
Follower
Someone who hasn't registered on badgelu yet, or hasn't bought a badge
Supporter
Someone who has registered on badgelu and bought a badge
The moment you buy a badge, you appear on the ranking as a "supporter."
What you can do as a supporter
- 📊 Your level of support becomes visible on the ranking
- 💬 Send chants (support tips) together with a cheering message
- 🎁 Receive exclusive perks that only the creator shares
- 🗳 Join polls and take part in the creator's decisions
- 📨 Receive special messages from creators (you can stop delivery per creator if you want)
- 🏅 Engrave your support history on the blockchain as a "rank NFT"
Getting started
Log in (create an account)
Logging in and signing up are the same step on badgelu. Start with any of these three accounts — no email registration required.
X (Twitter)
Authenticate with your X account
Authenticate with your Google account
LINE
Authenticate with your LINE account
If you already have an account, just log in. First-timers get an account created automatically after authenticating.
Visit a badge page
You reach a badge through a link the creator has shared.
- Tap a badge URL shared on social media
- Come in through a referral link (
badgelu.com/join?ref=code) - Find a badge from the creator's profile page
Buy a badge
On the badge page, tap the "Get this badge" button. If you're not logged in, you go to the login screen and return automatically to finish the purchase once you're in.
Visit the badge page (follower) → Log in (X / Google / LINE) ← you become a supporter here → "Get this badge for [price]" button → Pay by credit card (Stripe) → Badge acquired! You appear on the ranking
When the purchase completes, the creator's thank-you message appears in a completion popup with a confetti effect.
The thank-you message shows only once. You can't look it up later in your inbox or profile (only the broadcast messages described below arrive in your inbox).
Payment methods
Payment is by credit card through Stripe, a secure payment service. Major cards including VISA, Mastercard, JCB, and American Express are accepted. badgelu never stores your card number.
Monthly subscription badges
Besides one-time paid badges (a single payment), some paid badges are monthly subscriptions billed automatically each month. On these, the button reads "Support for ¥○○/mo." You keep supporting every month until you cancel, and you hold the badge and its perks the whole time you're subscribed.
Billing
Your card is charged automatically every month
Status
The badge page shows "Subscribed & supporting!" and your next renewal date
Cancel
Cancel anytime from "Cancel" on the badge page
After cancelling
You keep the perks until the end of the current billing period (the day before your next renewal); the badge is then removed automatically
Cancelling doesn't remove the badge right away. You keep the perks as usual until the end of the period you've already paid for. There is no prorated refund if you cancel partway through a period.
How to enjoy being a supporter
View the ranking
Once you buy a badge you appear on the ranking, and you can always check your position.
- Positions update in real time
- When someone buys or chants, positions swap with an animation
- Right after buying, a "You're now #○!" highlight shows for a few seconds
- The top 3 get gold, silver, and bronze medals
- The more chants you send, the higher you climb
Set and edit your cheering message
For each badge you can set one short "cheering message" (up to 100 characters). It appears publicly on your ranking card, visible to anyone including the creator.
It doesn't get "delivered" privately to the creator. Because the ranking is public, the creator can read it there.
You normally set or edit the cheering message at the same time as sending a chant (in the input below). For finished or expired badges, or badges where you've used up your one free chant, a message-only save button appears so you can edit it on its own. Saving it blank deletes the message.
Send a chant (support tip)
A chant lets you express "I want to cheer even more!"
- Go to the chant section on the badge page
- Enter how many to send (e.g. 5)
- Add a cheering message and send
- Pay by credit card (Stripe)
- It reflects in the ranking chant count, and your message appears
When a chant completes, 🎉 a confetti effect plays.
Free chant (unit price 0)
- How many times
- Once per person
- Cost
- 0
Paid chant (unit price ≥ 1)
- How many times
- Any number of times (up to 1,000 per purchase)
- Cost
- unit price × count
Whether you can send unlimited chants depends on the chant unit price, not whether the badge is free or paid. Even a free badge lets you chant repeatedly if its chant unit price is 1 or more.
A paid chant must meet the per-currency minimum charge per purchase. Until it does, the "Send" button stays disabled (increase the quantity to enable it).
Receive perks
You can view exclusive content available only to badge holders, from the badge page.
Text
Exclusive messages, passwords, codes, etc.
URL
Exclusive external links such as a Discord invite
Files like e-books or documents (secure download link, valid for 1 hour)
Serial code
A unique code assigned just to you (discount code, membership card, etc.)
Take part in polls
When a creator is torn on a decision, polls let supporters share their opinion. The more you've supported, the more your opinion counts.
You hold the badge
1 vote
Cumulative N chants
+N votes
- Once you vote, you can see the results. Before voting, results are hidden
- You can change your vote before the deadline
- The creator decides whether to show results after the deadline
Receive messages
You can receive announcement messages from creators.
- Inbox: Dashboard → Messages
- An unread indicator shows on the badge page
- From each message you can toggle "stop / resume delivery from this creator" (per creator = per badge; past messages remain even after stopping)
Rank NFTs (engrave your support history)
What is a rank NFT?
It lets you permanently save a snapshot of "at this moment, I was ranked #○" on the blockchain (a tamper-proof ledger). An NFT is a one-of-a-kind item that proves a piece of digital data is "the real one."
Badge name
Which badge the rank is for
Rank
Your position at the time of minting
Total supporters
The total supporter count of that badge
Mint date
When it was recorded
Creator
The creator who made the badge
Supporter name
You (the person who minted)
The NFT image is the badge image itself. The rank and total supporters are not baked into the image but recorded as the NFT's metadata. The minted NFT arrives in your wallet.
How to mint (issue)
Rank NFT minting is available only if the badge creator allows it. On badges where it isn't allowed, the "Mint as NFT" button doesn't appear.
What you need beforehand:
- A crypto wallet such as MetaMask
- A wallet address (a number starting with
0x) - A credit card (to pay the NFT mint fee + gas fee)
Step 1: Tap "🏅 Mint as NFT" on your own ranking card Step 2: Choose a chain (Polygon or Ethereum) Step 3: Enter your receiving wallet address (0x...) Step 4: Pay the NFT mint fee + gas fee together by credit card Step 5: badgelu writes to the blockchain on your behalf (automatic) Step 6: Check your NFT on OpenSea
Polygon vs. Ethereum
Both are live and you can choose either at minting. A "chain" is the type of blockchain your NFT is recorded on.
| Item | Polygon | Ethereum Mainnet |
|---|---|---|
| Gas fee (write cost) | Nearly free (a few cents) | Variable (a few dollars+) |
| Speed | Fast (~30 sec–2 min) | Slower (~2–4 min) |
| Best for | Cost-conscious, casual minting | A lasting keepsake |
For first-timers we recommend Polygon — it's cheap and fast.
About gas fees
A gas fee is the cost of writing to the blockchain. On badgelu, you pay the gas fee together with the NFT mint fee at Stripe checkout (they're shown as separate line items). badgelu's wallet only "submits" the write on your behalf.
Mint as many times as you like
You can mint the same badge's NFT any number of times, because each badgelu NFT is a "snapshot of that moment." Mint at #1 and you get a "#1 me"; mint at #3 and you get a "#3 me."
If you try to mint again at the same rank as last time, a warning about being charged twice appears with a confirmation checkbox. If your rank has changed, you can mint right away.
If a mint fails
Payment expired
No charge, since it was never paid
Failed before writing
Automatically refunded via Stripe
Failed mid-write
The team is notified and handles it after checking
Check on OpenSea
After minting, the NFT arrives at your wallet. Go to opensea.io, connect your wallet, and find your badgelu NFT under the "Collected" tab of your profile.
Your profile page
Your public profile appears at badgelu.com/[username].
- Badges you hold
- Badges you issue (if you created any)
- Your chant history
- Social links (X / Instagram)
You choose what to show from the profile edit screen. Even if you show your chant history, the amount is visible only to you — others see just the chant count.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to buy a badge to appear on the ranking?
Yes. You become a supporter the moment you buy a badge, and then you're on the ranking.
Can I always send chants?
Whether you can send unlimited chants depends on the "chant unit price." Paid chants (unit price ≥ 1) any number of times; free chants (unit price 0) once per person. Even a free badge lets you chant repeatedly if its unit price is 1 or more.
Where do I create the wallet needed for NFTs?
MetaMask (metamask.io) is the most popular, with a mobile app too. After installing, a wallet address (0x...) is generated.
How much does minting an NFT cost?
It depends on the badge. The mint fee is "badge price × mint fee rate," and the creator sets this rate per badge. For example, at a 20% mint fee rate a $10.00 badge has a $2.00 mint fee. Even for free or low-priced badges, the per-currency minimum is the floor. Gas is nearly free on Polygon.
Can I cancel a badge I bought?
For one-time badges, regular cancellations and refunds aren't supported. For monthly subscription badges, you can cancel anytime from "Cancel" on the badge page; you keep the perks until the end of the billing period, then the badge is removed automatically (no prorated refund). For questions, contact support@badgelu.com.
Can I stop message delivery from a creator?
Yes. From each message in your inbox, choose "stop delivery from this creator" (per creator = per badge). Past messages remain even after stopping.
Can I hold multiple badges?
Yes. You can hold any number of badges from different creators.
