Badge types and how to create one
What is a badge?
A badge is an item that symbolizes your relationship with your supporters. Anyone who acquires a badge you issued (by purchase or invitation) becomes your "supporter" and is reflected in that badge's ranking. A single creator can make several badges, with up to 20 active at once.
Badge types
A badge's character is set by two axes: its badge type (expiration) and its distribution method. You choose both when creating a badge.

🎖️ Regular
A badge type with no expiration. Once acquired, it stays valid forever
📅 Challenge
A badge type with an end condition. Choose "by date" or "on achievement." "By date" ends automatically at the set time. "On achievement" lets the creator set a milestone, such as reaching a goal, as its ending

🧾 Paid sale / free giveaway
A normal badge you sell at a price or publish for free. Anyone can get it from the badge page
🔒 Invite-only
Not public — only people with a secret key you issue can get it for free
Invite-only badges have a screen to issue and manage secret keys for distribution (Badge Management → Secret Keys).
Memo / label
A note to tell keys apart (up to 50 chars, optional)
Usage limit
Choose "1 person only," "up to N (2–10,000)," or "unlimited"
Expiration
The key's expiry date/time (optional)
Billing type (one-time vs. monthly subscription)
For a paid badge, you choose how supporters pay: one-time or monthly subscription (this does not apply to free or invite-only badges).
💳 One-time (pay once)
A single payment; the supporter keeps the badge until they discard it
🔁 Monthly subscription
Billed automatically every month; support continues until the supporter cancels. Monthly revenue accumulates
All paid badges (both one-time and monthly subscription) require Stripe (payout setup) to receive revenue. For a subscription, the price is set as a "monthly (per-month)" amount. The revenue split (platform fee) works the same as one-time: on each monthly charge, the fee is deducted and the rest is automatically paid out (see Revenue & Payouts).
The billing type (one-time / monthly subscription) cannot be changed after creation. Supporters can cancel a monthly subscription at any time; on cancellation the badge is removed at the end of the current billing period (there is no prorated refund).
Creation form settings
Here are the settings when creating a new badge.
Basic info
Badge name
The name supporters see (required, up to 50 chars)
Story (description)
The badge description; can be styled with Markdown (up to 500 chars)
Badge image
The image that represents the badge (PNG / JPEG; 512×512 PNG recommended for NFTs). Choose the frame shape (square / circle)
Pricing (for paid/free badges)
Currency
Choose from JPY / USD / EUR / GBP / AUD / CAD / SGD / TWD / KRW. If Stripe Connect is set up, it defaults to your payout currency
Billing type
For paid badges, choose "one-time" or "monthly subscription" (see Billing type)
Badge price
What supporters pay. Either 0 (free), or at least the per-currency minimum (e.g. $0.50 for USD). Amounts below the minimum aren't allowed. For a monthly subscription, this is the "monthly (per-month)" amount
Chant unit price
Price per chant (0 is allowed; see Connecting with supporters)
Currency, billing type (one-time / monthly subscription), badge price, chant unit price, and badge type (Regular / Challenge) cannot be changed after creation. Set them carefully.
Choosing a currency different from your payout account means a conversion fee on every deposit — and you can't change it later. When in doubt, match your payout account's currency.
Thank-you message
A message shown in the completion popup right after a supporter acquires (buys) the badge (up to 100 chars). The same message also shows when a chant purchase completes.
The thank-you message shows only once — it doesn't stay in the supporter's inbox (only broadcast messages arrive there). It also doesn't show when an NFT mint completes.
Page design
Customize the badge page's accent color (8 presets + a custom color code) and background color (8 presets).
Add perks
Check "Add perks" to set up content only badge holders can see (see Connecting with supporters).
Allow rank NFT minting
The "Allow rank NFT minting" checkbox controls whether supporters can mint a rank NFT from this badge. It's on by default, and you can toggle it anytime from the edit screen. Turning it off hides the "Mint as NFT" button on the badge page.
Once minted, a rank NFT stays on the blockchain and can't be deleted or changed (it becomes a tamper-proof proof of support). Turn this off if you don't want any information engraved. See "Revenue & Payouts" for how it works and the revenue.

Chant revenue depends on the chant unit price, not on whether the badge is free or paid. Chant unit price is separate from badge price. Even a free badge ($0) earns 80%–90% of the paid chant sales if the unit price is 1 or more. Conversely, a paid badge with a chant unit price of 0 becomes a free chant (once per person, no revenue).
The share is a range because the platform fee starts at 20% (an 80% share) and drops to as low as 10% (a 90% share) once you meet certain conditions. See Revenue & Payouts for how it works.
A great approach is to start with a free badge to build the relationship, then move to a paid badge later.
